Community Outreach
Scholarships & Awards
The company has provided scholarships to staff to pursue courses in
Accounting, Medical Technology, Laboratory Technology and
Radiography (as previously mentioned). It has also presented annual
awards in the following areas: at University of Technology the Clinical Chemistry Award to
Final year Medical Technology student with the highest grade in Clinical
Chemistry and in association with CASMET an award to the intern of the
year.
Publications
CML has also published articles in “The Jamaican
Practitioner” a quarterly publication of the Association of General
Practitioner, promoting the use of new tests and highlighting their
usefulness in the management of the relevant disease process. This they
have been doing since 1987.
Symposia
CML participates in the Medical
Association of Jamaica’s annual conference and various symposia of the
Association of General Practitioners with display booths.
Community
Service
Central Medical Labs has been associated with a number of
community outreach programmers, providing discounted or free services to
indigent persons, working in conjunction with the community health care
providers.
